Village of Conti Monte Petriolo Perugia

Built where an ancient fortress once stood, of which we have news as early as the end of the 13th century, it was then inhabited by about 500 people. In 1390 it was occupied by the Raspanti Perugini and in 1501 it depended on Porta Eburnea (or Arco della Mandorla, Perugia countryside). In the 19th century it became the property of Lemmo Rossi Scotti, count of Montepetriolo, one of the greatest 19th-century battle painters, to whom we owe the transformation into a residential complex during the second half of the 19th century, when the monumental “Limonaia” was also built. with a neo-Gothic taste identifiable in the overlaps, in the numerous battlements that decorate the complex and in the landscape layout of the park.

Perugia beyond the image

Gianluca Mencacci

Visiting a city is always a unique emotion, but what makes a place truly special?
This is how Gianluca Mencacci replies, with the book Perugia beyond the image, a photographic and narrative journey to discover alleys, squares and stairs, glimpses and panoramas, which animate Perugia, inducing the reader almost to listen to this beautiful village deeply medieval and soulfully modern.
Images and words intertwine evoking sounds, scents and sensations that create that magical and enveloping atmosphere, characteristic of a Perugia to be experienced.
